Steven Gerrard celebration photograph gets Kevin Quigley a top photography honor

Kevin Quigley has been honored with the Premier League photograph of the year award for clicking snaps of Steven Gerrard’s well talked about celebration away at Fulham previous English Premier League season. All top flight commissioned photographers were asked to submit their favorite snap of the campaign that were then judged by a panel of experts that has top names like Dave Shopland, Martin Tyler, Alan Sparrow and Andy Dunn.
Kevin got the gong for saving the intense celebrations of Liverpool captain in his camera at Craven Cottage during stoppage time of 3 – 2 victory back in February. The Sportsmail photographer was intelligibly thrilled to have been recognized.
He told that he is highly honored to win this award, this is the first photography award I have won so would like to thank the judges and Barclays for having this competition each year.
Fulham is really a magnificent ground to work at. This place has some old features that make for lovely snaps. His colleague Graham Chadwick won this same award with a tremendous remote camera click a few years back; and it seems like it is a lucky ground for them.
He told that he sat there with his technician Ian, who edited his snaps that evening. Ian had just ran out to be beside him as they were on edition because it was a 7:45pm kick off and it was the 2nd or 3rd minute of injury time when the penalty was awarded. He was sitting in front of the Liverpool fans because he felt Liverpool were going to win the match and of course celebrate in front of their travelling fans who had a nightmare journey to and from the game as the trains were delayed.
